PhD Admission : University of Calgary, Canada is actively seeking a highly motivated, full-time Ph.D. student to contribute to the optimization of a cutting-edge microfluidic electrofiltration platform developed in the Sen laboratory.  

Qualifications: Bachelor's and Master's degrees in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline. Previous experience in conducting laboratory experiments. Proficiency in characterizing and manipulating charged particles. Strong technical background in fluid mechanics. Experience with computational fluid dynamics and simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics (fluid flow and electromagnetics modules).

Knowledge and technical expertise in designing and operating microfluidic devices. Familiarity with the application of electrical fields. Experience in the isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles is advantageous. Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and characterization is desirable.

Responsibilities include: Conducting scientific research ethically and responsibly. Maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures and results. Drafting first-author scientific manuscripts for publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Presenting research findings at scientific conferences. Collaborating with other research groups. Contributing to the training of junior laboratory members. Supporting laboratory operations.
